Meanwhile I found Meredith Grey unlikable in the early seasons for her simpering, people pleasing, need to be in a relationship. I was a Cristina Yang fan from day 1. I want my surgeons to be focused 😂
So this is an example of trauma rendering a character unlikable 😅 Meredith Grey is the poster child of abandonment issues, which is why she's so focused on Derek Shepherd (and, to be fair, he did end up being the love of her life!). She wants to be loved due to all that parental trauma.
Love these thoughts—when we reduce humans down to "do we like them or not", we're willfully closing off the possibility of understanding their humanity fully.
🤌
the only opinion that matters (half joking) (only half)

Valid! I think it took long enough for that to develop that I identified more (aspirationally) with Cristina. Who is extremely ND-coded.
But also I’m very interested to see how people respond to my FMCs. They’re written to be neurodivergent, and I hope they make ND women feel good.

Exactly! I don't want a likable character - I want somebody who's compelling.
